About Fairytale Threads

Fairytale Threads is Austin’s own kid’s consignment sale, held several times throughout the year, the sale is designed to support the local community of parents and keep clothes out of landfills.

Consigners sell gently used items that don’t fit or aren’t needed for themselves or their children through the event and are able to shop for toys, clothes, and gear that better fit their ever-changing needs.

Goal

The goal of this project was to elevate this brand identity to a new generation of first-time parents and their family members after 15 years of operation.

Solution

The final identity is fresh and exciting, inviting our new consigners and shoppers to contribute to their community in a clear and organized fashion. (No pun intended.)

Reflection

Fairytale threads has been very relevant to me as a growing designer. This consignment sale was started by my mom over 15 years ago. This has helped fund my education at Texas State and learn about graphic design through my mom’s passion for her business. I remember designing my first flyer for the sale by layering some scrapbook paper as a texture, then taking more paper to create a bird for my mom to use in her illustrator file.
